What amazes you?

I am amazed continually.
Life is amazing.
Life makes "amazing" amazing.
Once heard theoretical physicist from Adelaide,
communicator and teacher,  Paul Davies,
elaborate on a thing which had struck him and caught his attention.
Life has a proclivity to come forth into being.
In his saying this, i was understanding him to be saying, not only upon this earth, but, through out our known universe.
What a fantastic, incredible statement.
What amazes me ?
Life amazes me.
I amaze me,
and, so too do you.

How do you define integrity?

Posted on Jan 7th, 2008 by Leo : Leo, life cultivator. Leo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 07, 2008:

Blue
  • Integrity. A fine word to be sure.

I feel it best understood with understanding of it's biological context.

As I understand it if an organism suffers a failure or breech
in one of it's systems, say for instance resperatory, vascular, digestive, what ever,
the "integrity" of the organism is compromised.
Should the skin be cut the tissue is compromised and must be repaired,
but, it cant be permitted to remain "with out" integrity.

I am inclined to believe personal integrity has a larger role in our lives
than might be apparent,
particularly with many people focused on "I am" and "I want" issues.
Fidelity also comes to mind,
though in the context of one being true to themselves.

Physiologicly I believe our own body is it's best doctor,
and so too with the personal integrity.
We may consider a compromise here or there will go unnoticed
and be of little consequince but, all the while
we may be bleeding and not conciously realise.

With the integrity mentioned here, i feel it to be similar in character.

Experiencing difficulty in doing what one understands
to be correct and propper costs in personal integrity,
this creating a wound on psychic level
detracting from quality of life and living.
The individual there by compromising their self and their "integrity.

Elder grand daughter Phoebe,
Ever we scale the stairs.
For ever, up and down,
then up, to be able to return down.
Half way ascended, looking back to view the achievement.
Like Edmund Hillary, Marco Polo, any great exploring pioneer,
out there, testing the limits.

Robust and vigorous to an extreme,
Such are You.

Younger daughter Eleanor with her daughter Phoebe.
Till mid 08 Elle and the girls were an enormous blessing for me
living just a stones throw away facilitating ease of access,
how ever, now, they are far away, aprox 400 km.
Unfortunately, i am not able to see as much of them,
but, still, they continue to bring joy and happiness to me.
10 June 09.
Mom finally got to visit you and she proved such a blessing
to you by your own account.
Thank goodness.
Thank you too for visiting Gramma.
I would wager that made her day,
seeing you and the girls after such a while,
and, to top it all off, i get to take you home.

Older brother, Lenny
Saviour of the universe.
Yes, I kid you now.
Any thing this man put his hand to,
forging a pioneering trail for him self,
found success and the "top of the heap" at the end of it all.
Guiding spirit and patriarchal influence,
forever ready and generous to the limit,
am honoured to have had you in my life Lenny.
10-June 09
You got company comming Lenny.
Sincerely trust all goes well for you.
Sharing a stage with kids and animals
is said to be fraught with the unexpected,
but, i know you will give it your best shot.
Good luck.
Hope it works with greater satisfaction than my experience did.

Mother

My dear sweet Mother.
Wednesday 23 4 08 Walked into a ladder in the dark of night, falling to gash your fore arm open and land on your chesh bruising vulnerable parts, diaphram in particular. After that to escape the clutches of confinement at our local hospital,
anxious at being admitted and eager to be discharged,
Prematurely, I think,  being discharged Fri 25th, my having said "You are going no where mother", and proving me wrong.
Mom, youre doing great. Hooked up to oxygen, methodicly going through each day, committing appropriate attention to detail, stickler for the rules, allowing comfort second place.  People like you arent born any more.

Father

Posted on Jan 12th, 2008 by Leo : Leo, life cultivator. Leo
My well remembered Father.
Dad, my well remembered father.
Pleased to have had you there. It was all good for me in retrospect.
The strap wasnt much fun, but, some how,
every thing seems to be what was required at the time.
Hope you are happy and content now, having done the hard yards here.
Would have liked to have done you prouder with-in your seeing.
Mother remembers you proudly and with on going affection.
Love you always dad.

Hoping to occupy the position only a peer can accomodate in times to come.
Who knows what lies before us.
At a young age this man left his family home never to return, improvising and making do as he went north along the west coast of Australia at a time when the "out back" was rarely traversed by any other than a pioneering spirit.
His unplanned excursion continued till he went , nearly full circle, meeting mother in a small country town, where he set about putting down roots,
fathering 3 boys and committing him self to his new family.

On one memorable occasion while attending primary school in grade 2 apparently i managed to frustrate a teacher so much that, while in the playground the teacher took up a limb fallen from a nearby tree and hit me on the head with it. My father, on hearing of this was beset with rage. The teacher had decided to leave town quickly and my father gave hot persuit losing the scent some 300 miles away deprived of the opportunity for revenge.

How tolerant are you?

Posted on Jan 20th, 2008 by Leo : Leo, life cultivator. Leo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 15, 2008:

Thumbnail_9_

Tolerance, Intolerance.

You got a bug bear here for me.

Feeling tolerance is the normal state of affairs all being well.

Intolerance, however, is another kettle of fish.
Feel all is tolerable except intolerance.

Am thinking intolerance to be the fruit of bigotry and a crippled spirit.
The need for egocentric expansion so great so as to inspire one to stand atop another to appear greater than those below and greater too, than the stature of one equal to all others.
The ideal situation might be for another planet be made available
for these where they could climb over each other,
without detriment to the inocents.
I cant help but understand greed and lust for power
to be a symptom of psycic illness needing remedial action for every body's sake.
Greed, and lust for power appear synonymous
with the catalyst for this condition.

Also, the proclivity of people to congeal into cliches and collectives constructing values and objectives facilitating ecclusivity.
Of nessecity, the sacrificial lamb is required to burn upon the altar of the god created in their own image.
Any differentiation will serve the purpose, colour, creed, race.
Any variation will suffice.

Also, the phenomena of people being attracted to their own darkness making certain issues prominent to the perceiver.
On a negative basis, it seems this is also food for intolerance
and most unfortunate.
