Greed.

Having times of abundance, comfort and security never before known in civilisations, we find our selves desiring still greater reward in exchange for less input,
Seeing the few above having more and the multitude below having less,
only feeling moved to aggrandise our selves still further.
Seeing the few above having more and the multitude below having less,
only feeling moved to aggrandise our selves still further.
Satisfaction loses definition
with one seeing most clearly what one covets?
If lust for affluence were a psychiatric disorder or moral transgression
with individuals considering only their selves
not regarding the welfare of the collective whole,
exposing them selves as a rampant parasite.
How much more integrity and genuine happiness
would be ours were we to content our selves
with what is sufficient for today
trusting providence for tomorrows needs.
I am hoping a new day dawns when greed and lust for power
are recognised as symptoms of a psychiatric disorder
and these disease ridden victims remedially treated,
lest they infect or abuse those about them.
